A nice size 1-car garage size is 12 x 24.
The average size of a 1-car garage is
12 x 20 feet and up. If you need space for storage, you could opt for an 18 foot width. Usually this size garage has one 8 - 10 foot wide door.
3-car garage
An ideal size for a 3 car garage is 36 x 24 feet. This allows for storage and room for trucks. Other sizes include: 32 x 24 feet, 34 x 24 feet and 36 x 28 feet. A 3-car garage will usually have one 8 - 10 foot wide door and one 12 - 16 foot door.
2-car garage
24 x 24 or
24 x 26 feet is our standard 2 car garage size. If you have small vehicles, you could opt for a smaller space of 20 x 20 feet or for extra space, consider 24 x 30 feet.

A 4-car garage typically has a width of 40 feet or more and a depth of 20 feet or more. You can expect to have two 12 - 16 foot doors or four 8 - 10 foot doors.

Garage Considerations
You should consider how many vehicles you own and their size. A full size car, mini-van or SUV is 14 to 17 feet wide. If you have larger vehicles, 24 foot depth or more is ideal. Do you need to store bikes, motorcycles or ATV's? Will you need additional storage space for lawn or garden supplies? Will you want a workshop in your garage? Do you want an attached or detached garage? A detached garage is cheaper than an attached garage.
